Rob Ferguson

Rob Ferguson grew up in Victoria, BC and has been fortunate to reside in Ucluelet for the past 25 years. Rob is a published Photographer with Canadian Geographic (January 2024 special edition), having his work acknowledged as one of the best photographs taken in Canada for 2023.

As a self-taught nature/wildlife photographer. contributing factors to his growth include detailed studying of photography techniques, landscape and wildlife photography, plus animal behavioural habits.

Afforded an open window to the wild, where the Pacific Ocean and temperate rainforest converge, he strives to capture dramatic west coast storms, scenic beaches; and most notably, the complex behaviours of wildlife.

In order to create a strong image, Rob’s standards include capturing thought-provoking photos, framing subjects at eye level, and setting the bar higher with each shoot. To keep this vision in mind, he observes the techniques used by David Yarrow and Charles Glatzer; two professional photographers who have influenced him over the years.

Rob feels a deep respect for nature and wildlife, with a responsibility in showcasing the importance of a healthy natural environment, where wildlife has the freedom to prosper. To envision a storytelling image and have it one day preserved in art, is what fuels his passion.
